NTH QLD TRIP

Day four

Yellow car door tour with Chambers of the Black Hand the highlight. This is a 100 year old mine in which Ron Canlin has carved out over 700 sculptures from the biblical, political, theatrical and historical, anything really. Toured at our own leisure taking many photos, an enjoyable hour and a half. After lunch  down to the artesian baths which were very warm enjoyable but I don’t think they cured me. The opal festival is just starting to gather momentum with stalls setting up in the street, one we looked at had a jam jar of opals sitting on the table priced at $6000 so I can only imagine the value of opals on sale over the upcoming weekend.

Well that is it  for  Lightning ridge we enjoyed our time here, it is quite different to Coober Pedy and well worh a look
