Awoken by natures orchestra around 06.30, the red finches had returned for breakfast behind the van. Took a little trip towards Camooweal to another camp area on the Gregory not quite as attractive but still a beautiful setting and only a couple camped here  lots of room,if back again would stay here.

Back to camp where the kites patrol overhead, the lizards and geckos sun then scamper for cover as the river bubbles over its stony shallows , we both took a dip in the afternoon then relaxed in our shady alcove  where we were visited by an impressive aqua blue and black butterfly tried to her photo but had wrong lens on.The finches turned up on cue for their dinner  of crushed belvita  biscuits, while at the next camp walleroos came down for their evening drink, then we were off for our dinner at the Gregory downs hotel

Choice of fish, Parma or steak we ordered a couple of parmas and drinks from the owner an English woman who  if you closed your eyes would swear was Sybill Fawlty, a couple of minutes later as if scripted the lights went out, the generator had broken down. The barman went out the back and after 15 minutes the lights were back on, the barman returned ominously telling us the gennie was stuffed and the motor was about to blow. To their credit we all got our meals. We left shortly after dinner observing there were 5 having a drink behind the bar and only 4 in front of it.

More photos to follow especially o the kites  when I get camera lead
